Interview & #Giveaway: TS901 by Stacey Rourke & Tish Thawer

Please help me welcome author Tish Thawer to PNR & More for an interview promoting her and author Stacey Rourke's new book, TS901, Anomaly!

Hi! Would you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Tish Thawer: Of course! I’m name is Tish Thawer, and I’m a bestselling, award-winning author who writes paranormal romances for all ages. From my first paranormal cartoon, Isis, to the Twilight phenomenon, myth, magic, and superpowers have always held a special place in my heart.

It’s been said that I’m most known for my detailed world-building and magic-laced stories, and have had my work compared to Nora Roberts, Sam Cheever, and Charlaine Harris. (Wow! What an honor!) I have also received nominations for multiple RONE Awards (Reward of Novel Excellence), and Author of the Year (Fantasy, Dystopian, Mystery), as well as nominations and wins for Best Cover, and a Reader’s Choice Award.

Before becoming an author, I worked as a computer consultant, photographer, and graphic designer. And now, in addition to writing, I’m also a columnist for Gliterary Girl Media and have bylines in RT Magazine and Literary Lunes Magazine. I reside in Arizona with her husband and three wonderful children and am represented by Gandolfo, Helin, and Fountain Literary Management.

What do you do when you are not writing?

Tish Thawer: Spend time with my family, watching TV, hiking, and playing games.

Do you write an outline before starting a book or just write?

Tish Thawer: Usually, I just write–I’m a definite panster, but with TS901:Anomaly, we had to do an outline so that we could both visualize where each chapter would take us. It worked out really well in my opinion!

Is there an author or book that influenced you or your writing in any way growing up or as an adult?

Tish Thawer: Surprisingly, I came into reading at a very late age, so with that in mind, my biggest influence would have to be Gena Showalter. I appreciated how she was able to cross genres and age groups seamlessly, as that was also what I wanted to do in my writing career. (I have young adult, new adult, and adult titles in Paranormal Romance, Sci-fi/Dystopian and coming soon, Contemporary Romance.)

I know authors get asked this a lot but do you have any advice that you would give to aspiring writers?

Tish Thawer: Don’t quit, but do your research. Really invest in learning the in’s and out’s of the industry before diving in. There’s a lot of information and how-to’s out there, and while everyone’s journey is unique, there are some tried and true things every author should know.

When did you realize that you would like to write and publish a book?

Tish Thawer: The day I woke up from a dream and had the first three titles of my very first series in my head, with an outline already taking shape. It was like I had no choice at that point. LOL

Can you tell us, in your own words not the book description, a little about your book?

Tish Thawer: Overall, TS901:Anomaly is about a community stricken by the side-effects that stem from the government’s interference in the world’s water supply. But on a more intimate level, it’s about acceptance and embracing the differences within yourself in order to reach your full potential.

Where can we purchase this book?

Tish Thawer: Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, iBooks, and many other online retails. It is available in eBook and paperback formats.

Can we expect more novels from you in 2017/2018?

Tish Thawer: Yes. Stacey and I are contracted for two more books in the TS901 Chronicles together, and individually, I have two other novels (Holli’s Hellfire-The Women of Purgatory #3 and The Sister’s of Salem-Witches of BlackBrook #3) and a short story that’s part of an anthology coming out in 2017/2018.

What was the process of co-writing like?

Tish Thawer: Actually, I found it to be really easy! Our styles mesh really well, which made working with Stacey super easy. We simply passed the manuscript back and forth at each chapter, then added in scenes to each other’s parts as we went. It was a blast!

Are you reading anything interesting at the moment? If so, what is it?

Tish Thawer: Yes! I’m currently reading my girl, Alys Arden’s The Romeo Catchers! It’s completely brilliant!

Do you have any upcoming appearances that you would like to share with us?

Tish Thawer: Absolutely. I’ll be at Once Upon a Book in Michigan in August, then it’s onto Penned Con in St. Louis in September, and my last of the year will be at Authors in the OC in October. (You can visit my website: www.tishthawer.com for dates and more information)

Do you have anything you would like to say to your readers?

Tish Thawer: Yes... I LOVE YOU!! LOL. I appreciate anyone who takes the time out of their busy lives to give any of my books a look. I truly can’t thank you enough!

Tish Thawer: Pepsi

Do you read more than you write?

Tainted water for the good of the people. Fluoride and vitamins to sustain the health of the human race. Added ingredients to extend and elevate the quality of life. All good things, right?
Wrong.
Thia Kelly has been changed by the TS901 chemical in the world’s water supply. Now, forced into hiding with the other inflicted outcasts, she struggles to survive as her powers emerge.
Evan Daniels hunted for others like himself, and finding Thia suddenly brought meaning back into his life. Love blossomed between the strange couple while they searched for a way to reverse the effects. Unfortunately, the Government had something else in mind.
Super-soldier creation on a mass scale was their end goal, and thanks to an unfortunate family tie, Evan became Patient #1.
Good-guy? Bad-guy? The world isn’t sure, but Thia is left with only one choice––save the ass of the world’s first Anomaly who just happens to be her boyfriend.
